As a parent who has to be to work at 7 am with children who walk 20 mins to school each morning, I'm happy that they decided that childrens safety was important. Believe it or not, there are plenty of parents out there who drop their children off well before they are to do so at local elementary schools. This means the children are left outside until 8:05, when the staff will happily open the doors so children can come in and be warm. Then you have the recesses...yes, they would have indoor recess due to the well below zero temperatures. I am able to pick up my children after school...but what about the parents who arent? Little Johnny and Suzie then are usually too embarrassed to ask someone for a ride home, so they walk...in below zero temps. And about that extra "wasted day made up during YOUR summer vacation"...if your parents really have a problem with it, they can call you off or contact the school district office because your time is far too valuable to waste at school.
Ohhh that really urkes me. I mean COME ON! Its a little cold and you close the schools but when its a blizzard you keep them open, I swear this entire city is ass backwards. I am NOT making this wasted day up during MY summer vaca!

It used to take an "act of congress" to close Janesville Schools. Now they close at -2 degrees. Put on some extra clothes folks, this is Wisconsin, it gets cold here.
Well which is it, are Janesville schools closed or delayed?
