Wisconsin to offer help for snow-strapped cities?
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin municipalities could apply for state money to cover their snow removal expenses under a new bill.
Rep. Gary Hebl's measure calls for the state Department of Transportation to give $50,000 grants to municipalities, up to a total of $500,000. Municipalities would be eligible if snow and ice accumulation exceeds their region's five-year average.
Hebl, a Sun Prairie Democrat, says December was the second-snowiest on record in south-central Wisconsin.
