Focus groups on children's museum
Building a children's musuem in Janesville is an idea that bursts with possibilities.
Over the last three days consultants studying the feasibility of such a museum have heard many reasons to support one.
And they've also heard a common concern: What will it cost?

It's about time that Janesville considers something like this. I lived in Janesville for many years and now live out of state in a town that caters to families and young children. Whenever I go back to Janesville, my kids and I are amazed at the lack of activities for families. Janesville is a big enough city with a lot of young families...being a regional center of commerce and employment as well as the county seat, it could definately sustain a children's museum (without unfairly burdening the community with yet another tax)and it would definately be worthwile for the community to pursue one.

In many communities the Children's Museum is coupled with the Public Library and are wildly successful. I'm all for it and would be willing to get involved to help make this happen.

I live in very northern Wisconsin and our resort town has a very successful children's museum which has been inoperation for over 10 years now. It is not tax payer supported, it is supported by the fee they charge for people to come in and also by fund-raiers, and donations. When my grandchildren were small it was a favorite stop when they came to visit and it is hard to find a parking spot on a rainy day in the northwoods. Janesville can easily support something like this with the right attitude.
