Beloit Turner teachers ratify contract
BELOIT TOWNSHIP—The Turner Education Association Monday ratified contracts for the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 school years.
The school board ratified the contracts Jan. 14.
Negotiations have been ongoing since summer. The union and the district avoided mediation or arbitration.
The teachers will get a 4.39 percent total package increase this year and a 4.2 percent increase next year.
The contract includes an $11,000 health benefits stipend per year for four years for any teacher that retires at the end of this school year or $8,000 per year for a teacher that retires next year.
Turner teachers had been getting a $6,500 stipend per year.
