Green Bay temporarily renames New York Avenue for coach McCarthy
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Things will not be in a New York state of mind in Green Bay this weekend.
And that starts with renaming a what is normally called New York Avenue.
The city is temporarily renaming that street McCarthy's Way after Packers coach Mike McCarthy.
The change will take place this weekend, when the New York Giants come to town for the NFC Championship.
Radio announcers from radio station WAPL in Appleton persuaded Green Bay to rename the street.
And the street is so short it won't affect anyone's address, even briefly.
Mayor Jim Schmitt says he wants to note that New York Avenue is a dead-end and so is the Giants' playoff run.

Maybe they should left it alone...after all if they want the NY Giants to be a dead end. I hope renaming it won't jinx the Pack at a Dead End! Know what I mean?
