Evansville council denies ordinance
Evansville
A controversial ordinance proposed to push any public works projects estimated at $5 million or more to referendum died before the council could even vote.
Alderman Fred Juergens made a motion to approve the ordinance, but it died for lack of a second.
Four residents spoke in a public hearing against the proposal as it was written.
