Bradford committee tables Cecelia's expansion
The Town of Bradford Planning and Zoning Committee Monday tabled action on a proposed expansion of Cecelia’s Golf Course in a meeting that took place right after a heated public hearing on the subject.
Committee members wanted to wait for clarification on who is in control of one property involved in the project.
The town has received applications for rezoning and a conditional use permit to expand Cecelia's, on Emerald Grove Road off Highway 14, to 18 holes with a 52-home subdivision.
Mike Kerig, Cecelia's owner, said the project would increase the town's tax base.
In a public hearing, some residents expressed concerns about loss of farmland, increased traffic and the size of the proposed subdivision.

I know mike i have golfed at cecelia's for many years and he does his best to upkeep the course by himself. Also weather played a big role in the past year.I agree with the previous comment that with the expansion of the course he will be able to hire a full time groundskeeper and will have the course in the best condition its ever been in.

I realize there was flooding in August that was hard on the first three holes. The end of October the problem should have been remedied. This is also not a reason to quit maintaining the rest of the course.

The expansion will help remedy these problems. It would allow enough funding for a full-time groundskeeper. Keep in mind also, the first three holes weren't playable because of the weather. Did you forget about the flooding this summer?

I agree completely the first three holes were not playable most of the year and the rest wasn't mowed.

i have golfed that course and the course is not keeped up at all it is a real eye sore why expand it anymore and then put a subdivision around it if anyone saw what it looks like i think you would have a hard time selling houses around it i would like to hear more on this storie because i have heard that there is more than what meets the eye here
