Turner has tentative contract agreement
BELOIT TOWNSHIP—The Beloit Turner School District and its teachers have a tentative contract agreement for this school year and next, district Administrator Dennis McCarthy said this afternoon.
This week, attorneys for both sides are nailing down language for the 403 (b) tax-free retirement benefit, McCarthy said.
The board could go into closed session Monday to discuss the language.
The rest of the contract seems satisfactory for both sides, said union spokeswoman Shelly Crull-Henke.
The union favors the district’s offer of an $11,000 annual stipend for teachers who retire at the end of the year. Teachers who retire by the end of next year would get $8,000 per year.
The district is offering a 4.39 percent total salary and benefits package increase in the first year and 4.2 percent the second year.
