Interstate motorists warned
The Wisconsin State Patrol is asking motorists caught up in the traffic blockage on Interstate 90/39 not to use the crossovers to switch from one side of the highway to the other.
Doing so is hampering rescue crews’ efforts, according to a State Patrol news release.
The Interstate is closed in both directions from Highway 30 in Madison to Dane County N because of a multi-vehicle accident in which at least one person was killed.
Traffic won’t return to normal for “many hours,” so motorists should find alternate routes, the State Patrol said.
