Six-alarm fire in Walworth County contained
LYONS—Firefighters from more than 20 departments are still working to put out a six-alarm fire at Michals TV, 6063 S. Railroad St.
Business owner James Michals said he opened the store around 9 a.m. He had to stop back home, only a couple blocks away, to pick up something he’d forgotten. When he returned to the store, he saw smoke coming from the upstairs windows, Michals said.
Michals’ call came in at 9:18 a.m., Walworth County Sheriff David Graves said.
No one was home at the residence upstairs, but two dogs were in the apartment at the time. Neighbors were able to rescue one dog.
The fire has been contained, and there appears to be no damage to the neighboring buildings.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but it is believed to be electrical.
The Lyons Fire Department is expected to release details later today.
