MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A special panel of appeals court judges is asking the Wisconsin Supreme Court to reprimand one of its own.

The three-judge panel says Justice Annette Ziegler committed misconduct while she was a Washington County judge by hearing cases that involved a bank where her husband was a director.

The panel is asking the Supreme Court to issue a public reprimand of Ziegler. That's the same punishment recommended by Ziegler's lawyer and the state Judicial Commission, which initially investigated the charges.

Ziegler was elected to the court last year after an expensive and bitter campaign.

The panel's recommendation now goes to Ziegler's colleagues on the high court.

Judges are lawyers after all. Lawyers go after doctors, police officers, pharmasists, dog owners, drivers, property owners, buisness people, you name it, except fellow lawyers. About the worst offense a lawyer can do in the eyes of other lawyers is to go after a fellow lawyer.

Gee, here's a real surprise. The only question all along has been which wrist was going to get slapped.
