Drifts cause slick rural roads
Drifting snow has turned to ice on rural roads as temperatures dropped this evening, causing accidents around the county, the Rock County Sheriff's Department reports.
Highway 140 has a number of slippery spots, and emergency responders have been busy with accidents in several other areas, the department's Sgt. Viengkhone Nouansacksy said shortly before 7 p.m.
Accidents with injuries were reported at 4:40 p.m. at highways 140 and 67 near Clinton and at 6:35 p.m. at Highway 26 and County N north of Milton.
Nouansacksy said Interstate 90/39 was not one of the problem areas, and traffic was moving fine.
