ELKHORN—A Bloomfield man fractured the skull of his father and left him without medical attention for 14 hours, District Attorney Phil Koss said at a bail hearing Thursday afternoon.

Jacob D. Newer, 26, of N2020 County H, Lake Geneva, got into a scuffle about 4 a.m. Tuesday with his father, David J. Newer, 57, at the Inn-B-Tween Motel outside Pell Lake, Koss said.

He waited until 8 p.m. before he and an uncle brought David Newer to Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Koss said.

Jacob Newer was ordered held on $25,000 bond.

He faces potential charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, Koss said.

If David Newer dies, the charges could be more serious, Koss said.

Hospital officials at St. Luke’s Medical Center in West Allis were already planning for possible organ donation, Koss said, indicating the severity of David Newer’s condition.

My youngest child was born after midnight. So far she's been good. ;)

How many times do you hear somebody say "nothing good ever happens after midnight"? Another example.
