Moy's Restaurant, the popular Chinese eatery in downtown Elkhorn, needs about a week still before reopening.

Owner Paul Moy had hoped his restaurant would be open today after extensive remodeling following a Jan. 8, 2007 fire.

"The general contractor doesn't have it done yet," he said.

The fire gutted the restaurant and Moy had to put more than $1.5 million into remodeling.

His original cooks should be back from Chicago by Monday and Moy is hopeful for a next Thursday or Friday opening. He may open the bar this Saturday.

Moy's has always been a favorite. All the dishes are tasty but, the egg rolls are the best, anywhere. Can't wait for them to reopen I hope they retain the atmosphere of the old Moy's.

Moys was not the greatest in my opinion, I ate there on numerous occasions, it was OK, nothing great, food was greasy, even for chinese.
