Jury ends 1st day of deliberations of man accused of poisoning wife
ELKHORN, Wis. (AP) - The jurors deciding whether Mark Jensen killed his wife ended deliberations late tonight without a decision.
They began before 9 o'clock this morning.
Several times they've asked for pieces of evidence, including Julie Jensen's letter that she left with a neighbor to give to police if anything should happen to her.
It pointed the finger at Mark Jensen if she was harmed.
They also asked for police photos from the scene the day she was found dead, the Jensen family computer's Internet history and 1991 divorce papers that were never acted upon.
Some of the photos of Julie Jensen showed her nose slightly bent. The prosecution says that shows her head was pushed into the pillow.
The 48-year-old Mark Jensen is accused of poisoning and suffocating his wife.
The defense counters that Julie Jensen was depressed, and that she committed suicide and left a letter pointing the finger at her husband to frame him.
