School board expels three
The Janesville School Board on Tuesday expelled three students. They are:
-- A middle school student who was accused of fighting with another student. He or she is expelled through the end of the 2008-09 school year but may apply to return no earlier than April 7, 2008, after satisfying a number of conditions.
The conditions include no fighting, no gang activities, no friends who are gang members, completing the Truancy Abatement and Transitional Education program and passing a review by officials.
-- A middle school student accused of repeatedly refusing or neglecting to obey school rules. He or she is expelled for the rest of the school year with no possibility of early reinstatement.
-- A high school student accused of possessing drug paraphernalia on school grounds. He or she is expelled through the end of summer school 2009 with no provision for early reinstatement.
This brings to 19 the number of students expelled this school year. That compares with 20 at this time last year.

I was hoping that they had expelled three school board members.
