Orfordville woman pleads guilty in robbery case
An Orfordville woman who admitted driving a getaway car in connection with a Footville bank robbery Nov. 9 pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to armed robbery and firearm charges.
Skye Archambault, 20, faces a maximum of 35 years in prison at her April 29 sentencing before District Judge Barbara Crabb.
Archambault admitted to buying Halloween masks at a Rockford, Ill., Wal-Mart and going along with the planned robbery of the Mid-American Bank. She drove the “switch car” after meeting the robbers who fled the bank in a stolen Lexus.
Archambault was dating Troy Thomas, 35, Rockford. Both were broke and needed money, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Graber. Although some of Archambault’s five co-defendants told authorities that Archambault suggested robbing the Footville bank, Graber declined Tuesday to credit her with the idea.
Graber said three armed men entered the Footville bank during the noon hour on Nov. 9 and demanded money. A teller gave them $5,895 from the drive-up window and a cash drawer along with bait bills authorities could later trace to the robbery, said Graber.

I truly hope Archambault, and all the others involved, receive maximum prison sentencing, although I don't think this will happen. More and more you hear of these crimes taking place in small towns that normally see no criminal activity what-so-ever. It's sickening to me.

dvlwmn: since when do you hear of a smart robber getting caught. They probably were not thinking anything other than they needed to get some money and they chose the wrong method. I still want to take my hat off to all of the law enforcement personnel, the did an excellent job capturing these criminals and the bank tellers did a excellent job with description, direction and putting the bait bills in with the rest of the money (and they all did it without getting injured).

Who would rob a bank for $6,000? That is putting a lot at risk for such a small amount of money. The robbers should also be charged with flee/elude, Obstructing, and endangering the lives of others. One car chase ended in rockford and a foot chase cost rock county, JPB, BPD, Green co and several other law enforcement agencies major money. All of this trouble and all that time in jail for $6,000 seems dumb to me
