The Janesville School Board's regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday night has been moved the Craig High School Large Auditorium, 401 S. Randall Ave., apparently because many protesting teachers are expected to attend.

A district news release says the change will to accommodate "an anticipated large number of attendees."

The teachers union plans for its members to attend the meeting and address the board about negotiations for a 2007-09 work contract. The two sides were scheduled to meet with a state mediator today in an effort to come to agreement on the overdue contract.

The meeting is scheduled for the normal time, 7 p.m. The teachers and their supporters plan to march at 6:30 p.m at Craig before they attend the meeting.

The union also is sending a mailing about its positions on the contract dispute to parents of district students.
