UPDATE: Roads getting worse
Two jacknifed semitrailer trucks have been cleared from Interstate 90/39, but overall the roads are getting worse as the temperature drops and the wind picks up, Rock County dispatchers said at 8 p.m.
The wind is blowing drifts across the roads and slush is turning icy, they said. Traffic on the Interstate is moving slow but there are no blockages at this time.
Only one accident so far has reported serious injuries: Three ambulances were sent at 6:30 p.m. for a crash at Highway 14 and Harmony Town Hall Road, Harmony Township, a dispatcher said.
Accidents are being reported statewide, according to a news release from Wisconsin Emergency Management. Drivers are urged to stay off the roads.

We were driving back from Milwaukee last night... not only are the idiots driving 75mph a problem but obviously we were driving too cautious for a semi driver... he came barreling by us at a ridiculous rate of speed for the road conditions, cars were in ditches everywhere, he got right next to us and blew his extremely loud horn for no reason which startled my husband who was driving. Then another truck blows by us & it had to be moving at least 70+mph while everyone else was driving slowly... what is wrong with these truck drivers?! You could barely see 3 car lengths in front of you and it was icy.

Everybody, please stay off I-90 yet tonight if you can. I had little choice but to return to Janesville after working a shift in Madison. I arrived in Janesville at about 12:30 a.m. The winds were not as bad as the icy roads! Lots of "black ice" that would appear out of nowhere. I spent a good part of the trip driving about 30 mph. But please don't get me started about the fools driving over 75 mph!
