A slow-speed chase in Milton ended with the arrest of a 51-year-old man Friday night, according to a news release from the Milton Police Department.

Police initially stopped David P. Schafer, 1023 W. Madison Avenue, Milton, around 8:15 p.m. at the corner of Madison Avenue and Parkview Drive. Schafer fled the scene, and officers pursued him to his home, where he was taken into custody. The pursuit lasted about two miles.

Schafer was charged with knowingly fleeing an officer and driving while intoxicated, reportedly his ninth arrest on the charge. He was cited for driving with a revoked license, failure to indicate a turn and driving with defective lighting.

Yeah it's called Wisconsin Circuit Court Access and you can go in and see prior charges and convictions. Thats why they know about all of this guy's charges and him having a bench warrant. Hopefully they put this guy away this time and keep him there because obviously he has no respect for the law. God forbid he would have killed someone. Don't need people like him on our roads.

KRJ-They issued a bench warrant for non-appearance on his driving after revocation on February 1st of this year and he has also failed to pay his fines on a previous OWI, one that also included a hit and run. We know because it is public information and available to anyone on the internet.

krj, This man had NO BUSINESS being on the road at all. He was driving with a revoked license and he was intoxicated, plus he fled the scene. It doesn't matter how long ago his prior offenses were. Maybe some of these people calling us wisconsin residents ignorant rednecks are ignorant themselves. I bet if he would have killed one of your family members while driving, you would not be making that remark. WISE UP.

Some things are obvious, this driver doesn't care what the law says, doesn't care about revocations, doesn't care about financial responsibility, doesn't care if he kills someone. He wants to drink and he wants to drive. He'll be back in court for his tenth DUI soon, maybe even before he's sentenced for his ninth

Do they have to wait to kill innocent people before these people are taken off the streets. Wake up Wisconsin are laws need to be a lot stiffer, these laws do not seem to be working. Wake up.

Another example of Judges being too lenient because they're afraid of overcrowding the jails and prisons. His ninth DUI? This guy could of killed someone.

How can a person be allowed to get a licence plate or car title in their name after multiple DUI conviction's, If they are using somebody Else's car they should be charged also just as if you let somebody use your gun. Maybe the state should be charged with incompetence.
