Janesville police issues 237 parking tickets
As of 6 a.m. today, the Janesville Police Department had issued 237 parking tickets for those violating the city’s snow emergency that went into effect at 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
All vehicles must be removed from city streets and public parking lots until snow plowing operations are complete.
Fines for parking on the streets during a snow emergency are $20.

The police should ticket the illegal parkers. If people didn't break the law, we wouldn't need the police department. How about a little personal responsibility? yaboy22 - the more the JPD takes in from law breakers, the less us law abiding tax payers need to pay in. I do like the idea of alternate parking. I don't need it, but the current idea was made for a small city, which we are no longer.

Would it be too large a burden to have alternate-side parking for snow days? There aren't enough places to park if you don't have a driveway. Other cities are successful with altenate-side parking in snow emergencies. What's the difference in Janesville?
