If you need a place to stay in Janesville tonight, you better hurry.

Front desk clerks at local hotels say rooms are filling up fast, and several hotels are already full.

Super 8 Motel, 3430 Milton Ave., only has 10 non-smoking rooms available for walk-ins only, front desk clerk Jennifer Dougherty said. Baymont Inn & Suites has 30 rooms left, but expect to be full by tonight, employee Missy Jacobson said.

“It’s just horrible,” she said of conditions on Interstate 90/39. “They don’t want to drive.”

Because of blustery conditions, you can’t even see the nearby interstate from the Best Western, 3900 Milton Ave., said employee Allison Stout. The hotel sold out all of its 105 rooms for tonight.

James Smith of the Hampton Inn, 2400 Fulton St., said the hotel sold out its 98 rooms moments ago. Smith went in the ditch on Highway 14 on his way into work and had to leave his car there with a police sticker on the antenna, he said.
