Janesville cancels bus service, trash collection
The Janesville Transit System announced the suspension of the “Nightside” bus service for today and canceled trash and recycling collection for the second day in a row.
"Due to continued high winds and heavy snow accumulations, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain the bus routes in passable condition," according to a news release. "This, coupled with the increased difficulty of navigating the routes safely in darkness led to the decision to cancel service."
Regular bus service in the six in-city routes in Janesville will end at 6:15 p.m. and will resume at 6:15 a.m. Thursday.
City of Janesville trash and recycling collection for Thursday has been canceled. If your trash and recycling collection day was Wednesday, collection will no longer take place Thursday, as previously announced.
"Collection for Wednesday, February 6, will now take place Wednesday, February 13," according to a city news release. "If your trash and recycling collection day is Thursday, February 7, collection will take place Thursday, February 14."
The City of Janesville Sanitary Landfill will be open Thursday, Feb. 7. Hours of operation on Thursday are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
For questions about trash collection, call the City Services Center at 755-3110.
