Winter storm warning issued
The National Weather Service in Milwaukee has issued a winter storm warning, which is in effect from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
A winter storms will move from the southern plains Tuesday morning, to southern Illinois by late in the day. The storm system will move from Indiana to the Ohio Valley Wednesday. The track of the storm will likely produce snow accumulations ranging from 4 to 6 inches in Marquette, Green Lake, Columbia and Sauk counties, to near 10 inches in the southeast corner. In addition to the snow, strong northeast winds will produce blowing and drifting.
A winter storm warning is issued when heavy snow, and/or sleet, and/or freezing rain is expected to combine with strong winds of 25 mph or more to cause major impacts to commerce and society. Travel will be dangerous and is strongly discouraged. If you must travel, keep a winter weather supply kit in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
