Front doors open today at remodeled, expanded DMV
Front doors of the newly remodeled and expanded Division of Motor Vehicles center, 645 S. Wright Road, Janesville, opened today, said Marcia Traska, supervisor.
Work began July 2 on the 22-year-old building, which remained opened to customers throughout construction, and cost nearly $500,000.
The remodeling and 1,366-square-foot addition to the 4,048-square-foot building has made it more customer and environmentally friendly—better, safer and faster, Traska said.
The new take-a-number system replaced the maze and allows people to sit and wait instead of stand in a serpentine line.
Six service windows are open and the driver’s license photo area was moved to the opposite end of the service counter.

hannah is correct I lived in California untill 1994 and they also renew your sticker by the value of your car. It cost my dad about $600.00 for his Volvo. I had a Ford Escort and that was just under $300.00 in 1994! Still a bargin every year.

This take a number system works in Beloit pretty well. However, even after Janesville's remodel, I still will probably continue to go to Beloit. I think the amount of people coming into the Janesville DMV at any given moment is just to high. Sitting or standing, you're still going to have to wait through all the people ahead of you. Now, if they have more counters open at a time, that's gonna make the difference. Waiting in that long line and only 2 or 3 counters being open was just too inefficient.

I am glade that the dmv can add new things like the weigh station and that add on at the DMV and charge us 75 dollors for a dam sticker when gas is 2.99 and when its hard to find a good job that pays. I hope the market crashes and this county gets messed up
