Death investigation at Tomah VA center
TOMAH, Wis. (AP) — The FBI is involved in a death investigation at the Tomah VA Medical Center.
VA spokeswoman Laura Bishop says the body of a veteran was found in his van on the campus Tuesday by VA police.
Bishop says the man lived on campus under the Veterans Assistance Foundation, a program for homeless veterans that rents space at the medical center.
The veteran's roommate reported the man missing Monday night.
Bishop says VA police assessed the situation and called in the FBI. Tomah Police Chief Wes Revels says his department is assisting the FBI, along with VA police.
An autopsy is expected to be done Wednesday.
