MILWAUKEE (AP) — Dense fog is making for tough travel in Milwaukee, as scores of flights have been delayed or canceled.

Pat Rowe is a spokeswoman for Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport. She said more than 100 flights were affected Saturday after fog began rolling in Friday evening.

She says delays on Saturday ranged from a few minutes to as much as six hours.

Southeastern Wisconsin is under a dense-fog advisory until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Rowe says fog by itself doesn’t close an airport. She says airlines have different policies depending on their planes’ navigation technology and pilot training. That means some planes might be moving while others are grounded for hours.

Rowe says passengers are frustrated or disappointed, but most are understanding.
