Winter weather will continue
From the National Weather Service:
The National Weather Service in Milwaukee has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, which is in effect from 3 am Tuesday to midnight Tuesday night. A winter storm watch has also been issued. This winter storm watch is in effect from late Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon. A wind chill advisory remains in effect until noon today.
The combination of below zero temperatures, and winds of 10 to 20 mph, will create wind chills of 20 below to 30 below zero through this morning.
Snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected late tonight through Tuesday evening, as warmer and more moist air pushes northward into the area ahead of low pressure. The snow will affect the morning and evening rush hour traffic on Tuesday.
The low will move northeast from the mid Mississippi valley into lower Michigan on Wednesday. This track is favorable for moderate to heavy snowfall across southern Wisconsin. Snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are possible. Brisk north to northwest winds will also bring blowing and drifting snow, and reduce visibilities. The snow will affect the busy travel day on Wednesday.
A wind chill advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture outdoors, make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
A winter weather advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
A winter storm watch means there is a potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

ALL TOGETHER NOW!
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

Wouldn't it be nice if it only snowed on the grass and trees and not the sidewalks and roads? LOL

I am so giddy.....think I will make some cookies. I love it when it snows. THere is a pang of excitement that comes with a snow storm. Anyway, all of you stay safe, and being it IS x-mas week, maybe we can refrain from cursing at the plow drivers! They will be out making it possibel for us peasants to get to our loved ones, while they are away from theirs. Just something to think about. Merry X-mas!

Madison is almost a foot (12") over what they had this time last year. So I suspect we are as well. Madison will break their all time record for snowiest December. At least its finally winter.

It might be easier if the Weather Service just tells us what days it WON'T snow. This seems worse than last year. Does anybody have comparison data that they could pass along?
