Progress for nursing degree program
Officials working to establish a Janesville-based, bachelor’s-degree nursing program announced a significant step forward late this morning.
The UW System has approved a faculty position for UW-Oshkosh. The person in that position will establish and teach in a collaborative nursing degree program at UW-Rock County in Janesville.
The announcement was made in a UW-Rock news release that quotes UW-Rock County Dean Diane Pillard and Rosemary Smith, UW-Oshkosh’s dean of the College of Nursing.
Blackhawk Technical College also is a key partner in the proposed program. Details are still being worked out among the three institutions, and an agreement has not been finalized. However, Pillard remains optimistic that students could begin enrolling as early as fall 2009.
To be placed on a list for information about the nursing program, contact UW-Rock’s student services office at (608) 758-6565 Ext. 200.
