Water scam targets senior
PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) — Pleasant Prairie police say two scammers pretending to be with the local water department came armed with a fake bill and a promise of a refund — and they wound up stealing a woman’s money and jewelry.
According to police, the two stopped at the home of an 86-year-old woman late Thursday afternoon, showed her the fake bill and told her they had the refund for her, but they didn’t have change for a $100 bill.
After she got the change, one of them got her to come outside, saying he had to show her a problem with her house. That’s when the other man crept inside and took the jewelry and the rest of her money.
Police Chief Brian Wagner said he’s glad the woman escape physical injury, but the incident should be a lesson to demand identification of someone who comes to the door claiming to be an official, be wary of letting anyone inside and call the police if there’s any uncertainty.

That is so sad. I think it would of been a clue when they didnt have change but its still very tricky.

Jerks!! I personally think those who prey on the elderly should face mandatory prison time.
