Janesville School Board to discuss IT Dept audit
From the WCLO newsroom:
A review of the Janesville school district computer system could cost thousands of dollars.
The school board Monday night will discuss the purpose of an audit of the district's Information Technology Department.
According to a memo from the Director of Business Services, if the purpose of the audit is to determine why a computer virus cause so much damage, it could cost up to $10,000. However, a consultant says that audit would be of little or no value because the system attacked by the virus is not the system currently in place.
If the school board decides to use a system vulnerability test, a company is proposing to perform that test for the district for $24,700.
Monday's meeting is rescheduled from last week. It will be held at 7pm in Parker High School's Small Auditorium.
