Rock County receives emergency flood funds from state
From the WCLO newsroom:
Two weeks before Christmas, Rock County is receiving $500,000 in state assistance to help homeowners still recovering from this summer's floods.
Dave Somppi, County Community Development Manager, says the county is working with households who need emergency heat assistance because their furnaces were damaged by floodwaters. The assistance is available for projects that aren't covered by insurance or other programs. They're available to county residents who don't live in the cities of Janesville and Beloit. Janesville and Beloit are covered by their own Community Development Block Grants.
Somppi says property owners should contact the county's Planning and Development office to learn more about the assistance.
