Governors press Congress for state fiscal relief
WASHINGTON (AP) — A trio of governors is asking Congress for relief from crushing state fiscal woes caused by a huge slump in revenues as the recession deepens.
The governors have already pared payrolls and cut aid to municipal government. In Capitol Hill testimony, governors such as Wisconsin Democrat Jim Doyle, New Jersey Democrat Jon Corzine and Vermont Republican Jim Douglas say they're looking at cratering tax revenues. That means even bigger cuts are coming.
Doyle told lawmakers that he's facing a 17 percent shortfall in his upcoming fiscal plan. That's besides a 10 percent cut to Wisconsin's state workforce.
The governors are seeking tens of billions of dollars to help with day-to-day operating costs, in addition to requests for Medicaid and infrastructure projects.

What's that giant sucking sound?
Oh; that would be all the companies and jobs vacating this tax hell state! Not to worry though, we have big diamond Jim up there in Madison to fix the whole thing via a massive federal government bailout. A Governor who's only difference from Blagojevich is that he has yet to be caught!

Our tax hikes didn't work did it governor. Raising the minimum wage and taxes during a recession making Wisconsin 13th on the highest tax state in America. Gov Doyle needs to send some one to Minnesota and find out how they can balance their budget and Wisconsin can't.

MORE BAILOUTS just as I have been telling you for the past 3 months!
EVERYONE is going to be bailed out!
Perhaps when the national debt gets to $20 trillion, China can then call us out on all the Treasury notes, and officially bankrupt our country.
