Update on winter storm warning
Click here for the latest closings.
From the National Weather Service:
The winter storm warning is now in effect until 6 pm this afternoon.
Snow, mixed at times with freezing rain and sleet, will change over to all snow by mid morning. Ice accumulations could approach 1/4 inch before the change to all snow. Roads will become icy as surface road temperatures are at or below freezing, especially bridges and overpasses.
Snow accumulations in the 3 to 6 inch range are expected today, before the snow tapers off this evening. The high moisture content of the snow will make it heavy and difficult to move.
A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, mixed with sleet and ice, are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel hazardous.
