Man gets 10 years for role in beating man
FOND DU LAC -- A Fond du Lac man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for kicking and burning a man who was suspended upside-down from a tree.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jerrad K. Blake pleaded no contest in September to being party to the crime of aggravated battery.
Prosecutors say Blake and another male beat 59-year-old Royden Haskins Sr. in 2007 after Haskins accused them of sexually harassing a woman.
The criminal complaint says Blake and the other man kicked Haskins in the head 20 to 30 times.
Haskins testified that the pair then hung him upside-down and took running kicks at his head. He says they also lit items on fire to burn him.
A message left late Saturday evening for Blake's lawyer wasn't immediately returned.

He will just go to prison, pump iron everyday and come out more of a threat after 10 years. Worse yet, he could get out in less time on good behavior. What a great system we have.

How sad! I'm glad Mr. Haskins is OK!

So this Haskins guy is still alive after all he went through? I don't remember hearing about the original story at all. If I was him I'd be extremely irritated that the guy only got 10 years. Sounds like it's a miracle Mr. Haskins is alive!
