VERONA -- Three people have been killed in separate car accidents in Wisconsin, partly because of snowy weather and slick road conditions.

Dane County authorities say a 39-year-old Madison man lost control of his vehicle early Saturday morning in Verona and was hit by a large pick up truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Racine County authorities say a woman, who was not identified further, was killed in a two-car crash early Saturday morning in Burlington. Authorities say alcohol was a factor in the accident.

Pierce County authorities say 46-year-old Jeri Brunkhorst of Spring Valley was riding in a car Friday night in Martell Township when the driver lost control on a hill and hit a power pole.

Brunkhorst was pronounced dead at the scene.

Driving fast on icy roads is not a problem. Stopping is the problem and most people who drive fast in poor conditions do not have a clue what they would do if they had to stop.

Maintain a vehicle capable of driving in inclement weather while maintaining the minimum speed limits. How many people actually have tires that are in good condition or are capable of winter driving techniques?
Get competence driving tests every two years if you want to complain about people going to fast, get an even playing field then complain.

Driving slow in the left lane to set an example is illegal your interrupting the flow traffic and causing the root of your complaints.

Sometimes slowing down isn't enough. This state needs to learn how to properly treat it's roads in the winter. For a place that snows as relentlessly as it does, you'd think they would know how to deal with snow removal/deicing more effectively than they do.

Just slow down. If people would only wear their seat belts and slow down...they won't be killed.

Don't be stupid, slow down in this weather.
