Town of Beloit to study new fire station
Beloit Township--The Beloit Town Board voted Monday night three to one to approve a contract with Angus Young Architects of Janesville to design a seven-bay station behind the current station No. 1 at 2445 Afton Road.
The contract is not for construction but for design of a potential 20,000-square-foot building with offices, living and sleeping quarters and storage space.
The board voted not to make any improvements to station No. 2 at 1143 Inman Parkway.

hey "daddy", Have you seen the condition of the current station. Its not exactly in tip top shape. Also the community is outgrowing its rescources and this is a step in the right direction. I bet if you needed them for some reason you wouldnt consider the costs of having them and the equipment around a form of Blowing the revenue...
PS. Maybe you should watch your driving a little better and you wouldnt recieve so many "asinine" citations. Slow down big guy.

How about putting this out for a vote to the taxpayers? Spending $200,000 or so to create this project (design fees) is a way to say "we have made a significant investment in this and can't turn back now." Previous estimates called for a 20% plus tax levy hike to build this fire station. Put that vote to the taxpayers and see how they feel about that in this economy.

Just something else the town of beloit can blow all that extra revenue on. No wonder they hand out so many asinine citations.
