Bagged yard waste collection canceled

JANESVILLE--Due to inclement weather, bagged yard waste collection activities have been canceled for today.

Collection that was scheduled for pick up today will now be picked up Tuesday.

This headline is misleading bigtime. Only Monday's collection was delayed (not cancelled) until tomorrow. Gazette trying to make big news where there is little.

This actually works out good for me. I just got my leaves bagged up this weekend and didn't know the city was picking up bagged yard waste. I get a second chance :)

to stevev-right-on! Last year my frozen down tied bundles lined the curb all winter! This year again they were ready to go at leaf pick-up time. Wake up city- this is Wisconsin!Unpredictable!

Be glad they're picking it up at all... Monroe charges you per bag regardless of when you put it to the curb. I have a tree in my yard that didn't drop all of their leaves until just a week ago. I hate that tree...

Same thing happened last year. Why do they wait so long to pick this stuff up? Last year they delayed it because of a relatively warm november. Then we got snow and ice the weekend before they were to pick it up.
