Streets resurfacing to start Friday
JANESVILLE--Street resurfacing activities will begin Friday and continue through Sept. 5 on the following streets:
Barham Avenue from Washington Street to Oakhill Avenue, Grant Avenue from Ravine Street to Mineral Point Road, Mount Zion Avenue from Milton Avenue to Sumac Drive and Ruger Avenue from Garfield Avenue to Randall Avenue.
Street work includes grinding and removal of a portion of the existing concrete or asphalt pavement followed by the placement of new asphalt pavement.
These streets will be open to through traffic during work activities but curbside parking will be restricted and congestion and delays should be expected.

Remember, Wisconsin has two seasons -- winter and construction.
.
Also, I seem to recall that back a year or two ago a survey showed that street maintenance topped people's complaints about Janesville. I don't think they meant "too much".

The city is continually resurfacing. Just because you don't happen to drive those streets doesn't mean it isn't happening in other places. The prep work for the streets in the article has been going on for awhile. The article doesn't say how long the resurfacing will take, so they might be done by the time school starts.
