SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Marinette County on tentative charges that he abducted his estranged wife from Sheboygan County.

Sheboygan authorities say the 52-year-old woman was kidnapped at knifepoint Friday from her Herman Township home, then bound, drugged and put in a van.

Deputies say she regained consciousness while the man was in a convenience store in Crivitz. She escaped to a nearby fast-food restaurant.

The man was found unconscious in his van late Friday night near a relative’s cabin in the Amburg Township.

The woman wasn’t seriously injured.

The same town of Herman address was the scene of a two-hour standoff last month between a sheriff’s department SWAT team and an armed man who threatened to harm himself.
