MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A judge has disqualified a lawyer representing a woman suing former state Sen. Gary George because his law firm has a conflict of interest.

U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb says Victor Arellano of Lawton & Cates cannot represent former Capitol staffer Delilah Tucker, who claims she was dismissed after raising concerns about doing campaign work on state time.

Crabb says the firm has a conflict because former Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager and her deputy Dan Bach work there.

Crabb says the two obtained confidential information during a state investigation of George and should have been isolated from the case after they were hired last year.

Bach and Lautenschlager say they’ve had no involvement in the case. Arellano says he’s flabbergasted by the ruling.
