Arena man dies in Union Township crash
UNION TOWNSHIP--An Arena man died Saturday night in a one-car crash in Union Township.
Michael Hefty, 29, was driving west in the 13000 block of W. East Union Road, .2 miles west of Murray Road, at 9:42 p.m., according to a Rock County Sheriff's Office press release.
Hefty failed to negotiate a curve, tried to correct and slid and rolled into the south side of the road. He was partially ejected from his 1995 Honda Civic and pinned.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by the Rock County Coroner's Office.
The passenger, John Jabs, 23, Mount Horeb, was not injured.
Neither person was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was a factor, according to the press release.

This was a tragic thing to happen. But if the court records are right, this was not his first DUI. He had three previous DUI's. The most recent in March. My thoughts and prayers are with the families at this time.

How nice of you to say lilbobby. What if this was your brother? Would you still be jamming your foot in our mouth?
