Janesville police non-emergency phone lines down

JANESVILLE--The City of Janesville Police Department non-emergency and administrative phone lines are not working.

The 911 emergency lines are not affected; those lines are operated by the Rock County 911 Center.

The problem started about 2:30 p.m., a department employee said. She was not sure how long it would take to get the lines fixed.

The department still has Internet access.

Suggest removal

Some news items have very “perishable” information, like this one. It quickly became overcome by events when the lines came back up two hours later. But the old information is still listed under “Latest News”. You should consider two things to keep your latest news up-to-date:
1. Remove the old, OBE items.
2. In your newer updates, link to the old items so people can see the progression of news, and also view any comments that the original item(s) attracted.
