New Rock County Board chairman lists priorities for county
From the WCLO newsroom:
Two aging facilities top the list of priorities for newly-elected Rock County Board Chairman Russ Podzilni.
He says the Health Care Center is getting old, and the federal government has set a deadline for the county to install sprinklers. The sprinkler system would cost $1 million and the county plans a study this summer to see the advantages of remodeling versus rebuilding. Podzilni also says the jail expansion project is a priority for him. He'd like to see the county meet with the architects, get a plan in place and get bid specifications to determine a timeline for the project.
Podzilni served as vice-chair for five years, while Richard Ott served as chairman. Ott decided to step down, but remains on the Board of Supervisors.
