'So far, so good' with flooding issues
The Rock River has nearly broken the 11 feet mark, but the county hasn't experienced any serious flooding problems today, a dispatcher at the Rock County Communication Center said.
The National Weather Service measured the river at 10.98 feet at Afton at noon today. Flood stage is 9 feet.
The city of Janesville closed the internal roads in Traxler and Riverside parks Friday and is encouraging boaters to stay off the river because of high water levels
"We're kind of crossing our fingers and hoping (the water) goes away," the Rock County dispatcher said. "So far, so good ... We'll see how it goes tonight."
The water is expected to keep rising until early next week.
