MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A new poll indicates that Wisconsin voters have no clear favorite in the presidential race.

The poll shows that Democrat Barack Obama would beat Republican John McCain 46 percent to 42 percent but Hillary Rodham Clinton would lose to McCain by the same margin.

Both victories are within the poll's 5 percentage point margin of error.

Obama and Clinton remain locked in a tight contest for the party's nomination.

The random telephone poll of 400 Wisconsin residents was conducted between March 25 and April 5.

It was sponsored by Wisconsin Public Radio and St. Norbert College.

These polls mean NOTHING this early. I once worked as a poll analyst. Trust me when I say all numbers are meaningless till both conventions are over with..
McCain is still around +120 - +140 on the world exchanges, and that is a great price as he matches up very well against Obama who will be his opponent. He matches up well, because he will put Democratic voting states into serious play, while he should still easily hold the south, and fly over country that the Republicans always win.

Where does it say the poll was taken in Madison?

I thought if an opinion or poll speaks out against a Clinton, it is automatically labelled as part of a vast, right-wing, conspiracy.

The poll was taken in Madison. The leftist capital of Wisconsin. No wonder Obama won the "poll".

mytake4u,

The poll was random... how is it that it has a, "left wing twist," to it? They didn't ask for listeners to phone in and say who they would vote for.

anything public radio is involved in is going to have a left wing twist to it. i am not surprised that the darling of the far left, mr. osama, would show up as a leader. the far left would sacrifice hil/bill in a heart beat to get this joker osama elected. he has no leadership skills. not in business nor politics. he's more than willing to tick off china by boycotting the olymics but surrender to radical islam....what a loser!!!!

Small sample for the poll, but the results look about right.
