Flood risk rises in southern Wis.
Today's heavy rains were just the start. National Weather Service said another, heavier round of precipitation moving in by Thursday night would raise the threat of significant flooding of rivers in the southern part of the state.
Forecasters said the low pressure system moving through the Great Lakes region Tuesday night into early Wednesday would produce about 4 to 8 inches of snow in the far northeast and an inch or more of rain in parts of the south.
