Update on flooding conditions

From the Rock County Sheriff's Department:

At the direction of Sheriff Spoden, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office is working cooperatively with Rock County Emergency Management, County Administration and the Highway Department. Presently, deputies are personally making frequent checks of the water levels in Rock County and reporting back to their shift Sergeants.

Water levels are being reported at the following locations:

Rock River in Newville: Water level is at 10.79 feet with flood stage at 10 feet. This is a slight decrease from April 4.

Rock River in Indianford: Water level is 14.70 feet with flood stage at 15 feet. This is a slight decrease from April 4.

Rock River in Afton: Water level is 10.16 feet with flood stage at 9 feet. This is a slight decrease from April 4. Additionally, water is at the edge of the roadway of South River and South Oakley Roads and is approximately 2-3 feet from South Christiansen. The entrance to Happy Hollow Park is clear but there is water covering the boat landing and standing water in the grassy areas of the park.

Sugar River in Avon Township: Water level is 3.12 feet with flood stage at 5 feet. This is a decrease from April 4. Additionally, water is starting to run over the Beloit Newark Road and is at the edger of the road at South Nelson Road.

Free sandbags and sand will be available at the following staging areas:

At the Beloit Town Hall, which is located at 2871 Afton Road.

For the Town of Fulton, staging is at Finns Tavern located at Hwy. 59 and Newville Road. Sandbags can be picked up at Fulton Town Hall located at 2738 West Fulton Center Drive.

For the Town of Milton the staging is at Mallwood Park, located at the end of the Road Two East in Mallwood.

At the Rock Town Hall, which is located at 5102 CTH D, Afton.

Residents will need to bring their own shovel to move the sand.

This situation is being closely monitored by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. For additional information, citizens may contact Lt. Gary L. Groelle at (608) 757-7906.

Hi,
has anyone heard if GM is going into layoff mode around the 13th of April? I heard Arlington is going on a 3 week layoff come April 13th. If anyone has any information I would like to hear..
