UW-Whitewater officials are conducting an economic impact study to show how important the university's Young Auditorium is to the local economy.

Results of the study will be released in January.

A national study shows that people who visit theaters spend upward of $30 in the community beyond the cost of tickets.

Associate economics professor Russ Kashian and Young Auditorium Development Director Ben Strand will facilitate the study, which will survey about 1,500 non-student attendees and their spending habits.
