Public hearing tonight for Mirbeau-Hummel development
A 6 p.m. public hearing on the proposed Mirbeau-Hummel development is expected to draw plenty of Lake Geneva residents to city hall.
City Clerk Diana Dykstra said the public hearing will begin with an hour-long presentation by the developer. It will be followed by about an hour for residents' comments. The mayor may allow for an additional half-hour for the developer to rebut and another half-hour for residents to comment further.
Residents will be limited to three to five minutes for their comments, Dykstra said. Hearing attendees will be asked to fill out speaker cards when they arrive tonight both to alternate between comments for and against the development and to ensure that residents speak in the order in which they arrived.
Because a large number of people are expected at the hearing, an overflow room has been set up where residents can watch the hearing on closed-circuit televesion.
